French Honeysuckle Moon
They’re talking French In the jardine below
Notes filter up through my open window
Children squeal as they crash into the pool
Running round the steps, never keeping cool
Spirits high as they soak up the sun
Air is filled with laughter, having such fun
Parents and kids, mingle with the water
With nothing but love for son and summer daughter
I wish you were here, to hold me in the gold
Of this French honeysuckle moon
I wish you were here, to hold me in the gold
Of this French honeysuckle moon
How I wish you were here to hold me
For that little bird it told me
Of this golden sacred moment
Only you and me could know it
I wish you were here, to hold me in the gold
Of this French honeysuckle moon
I wish you were here, to hold me in the gold
Of this French honeysuckle moon
They’re talking French In the jardine below
Notes filter up through my open window
Children squeal as they crash into the pool
Running round the steps, never keeping cool
I wish you were here, to hold me in the gold
Of this French honeysuckle moon
I wish you were here, to hold me in the gold
Of this French honeysuckle moon

Guillemot Days whisks us to a glistening shoreline, awash with 10 sublime songs full of serene hope. Compelling right from the buoyant opener Edge Of The World and Butterfly overflows with soaring, twangy sunshine. For a fave, so close with the lush vocals, melodic layers of Flowers Of Hope versus Peace And Plenty: an intriguing, modern parlour song both eerie and exquisite, voices and clarinet blending into something quite special. This album is a musical lighthouse on a dark day. Unmissable. anitajoyce

This album has quietly moved up the ranks: now a favourite, my first from Susanna Wolfe. I love the mix of reflective drama and honesty underpinning this outstanding release. ‘Accident of Birth’ is a bravely crafted account of dysfunctional family life whilst ‘Chemical Liberation’ is haunting, containing my favourite guitar solo of the album. Bargain Basement’ has exquisite vocal harmonies but the top slot goes to ‘Just One Step’ for pure catchy positivity, an album for ‘healing and believing’ anitajoyce

I first heard Katie Spencer on YouTube when she was featured on the For Bert Jansch playlist. Katie played her own song called Shannon Road. The lead break that she plays twice really got my attention. I became a fan instantly. Every track on this album is lovely. The whole listening experience is like a favourite film running through my head. I'm so glad that in my twilight years I discovered Katie. I wish her a long and succesful career in music. Mitch Wild
