Wonderful one time performance at a packed out Borderline (sadly no longer) in 1996 with Martin and the brothers Dunn, Gipsy Dave Smith and his brother Alex on soaring vocals
Special guest jazz drummer Alex Ross, my what a player (RIP Alex) and last but not least the awesome Algerian percussionist Aberkedar Sadoon
We hope you truly enjoy this marvellous gem of a recording unearthed from the vaults.

about

This is a very special recording probably made in 1996, a time when I used to stay a lot with Gipsy Dave in his flat in Dalston, his brother Alex lived just around the corner and we'd regularly play the 12 Bar on Denmark Street, also occasionally would play The Borderline just off Tottenham Court Road, sadly no longer with us
On this unusual night we had the two brothers Anth & Gary Dunn with us, and also highland legendary jazz drummer Alex Ross RIP who I knew from my time in Nairn
The band was especially hot and free flowing with the openness and be bop style of Alex, also with special guest appearances from Gipsy Dave on Slide guitar (Me & Mathew & Goodbye John) and his brother Alex raising the roof on songs such as Orange and Wholly Humble Heart, what a pair of pipes the wee man has
Another special guest that night was percussionist Abelkader Saadoon (the Algerian king of Rock & Rai)
All musicians were in a space free to let fly and you can truly hear it in this amazingly captured piece of time
Best
Martin xx
