lyrics
Early Morning Drive
Let me take you on an early morning drive
To the place that makes you glad to be alive
We’ve got some time to borrow, far from pain and sorrow
We’ll watch the sun come up and leave our cares far behind
Through many windy roads, head out to a beach
Far from the clutching trees way out of reach
Follow the south wind’s calling, to watch the north star falling
Then we’ll make love to the rhythm of the morning breeze

Guillemot Days whisks us to a glistening shoreline, awash with 10 sublime songs full of serene hope. Compelling right from the buoyant opener Edge Of The World and Butterfly overflows with soaring, twangy sunshine. For a fave, so close with the lush vocals, melodic layers of Flowers Of Hope versus Peace And Plenty: an intriguing, modern parlour song both eerie and exquisite, voices and clarinet blending into something quite special. This album is a musical lighthouse on a dark day. Unmissable. anitajoyce

What a tribute, I haven’t the words to say how this group have been the soundtrack to my life, through good and bad.
Anything that helps is the least I can do, missed dearly. Joe Zux

John Drumbo French from Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band worked with Thompson on two albums along with Fred Frith and Henry Kaiser.
Those two French, Frith, Kaiser and Thompson albums led me to this.
Also, Richard Thompson taught Hugh Cornwell (of The Stranglers) how to play the bass guitar in a band when they were both at the same school (Emil and The Detectives?).
With a career spanning 50 years and playing with two of my heroes (French and Cornwell) Thompson has produced a fascinating EP. yellowcakeuf6
