about

Written for my friend's father Mr Robert Main Ellen, a retired forester from Nairn
He passed in 1996 and his son Ron and I carved totem pole from a washed up log on the Nairn beach, it was later destroyed by young vandals but not long after another totem pole appeared, which was erected by Henry Fossbroke and others from the sacred run, it was erected in the Milton woods near Calrossie
I lived in Nairn in 1996 and in 1997 moved to Delny Farm near Invergordon and Calrossie

lyrics

Nairn Beach

Maybe Im old and maybe Im drunk
But I know where my home is at
I’ve been down and I’ve been up
Still I know where my home is at
Nairn beach is dear to me
I picture Calrossie, her golden fields
Come blue morning won’t you rescue me
Show me where my home, is at

River of fortune river of ease
Show me where my home is at
Come blue morning rescue me
Show me where my home is at
River of fortune river of ease
Picture Calrossie her golden fields
Come blue morning won’t you rescue me
Show me where my home, is at

Maybe Im old and maybe Im drunk
But I know where my home, is at
