Live @ Glasgow Pavillion 1990
A gem of a release entitled Live @ Glasgow Pavilion
A brilliant gig still talked about to this day, somehow found its way into Martin’s hands after a gig a a few years back.
We do know it was mixed and recorded by our sound man Mr Gerard Rolfe, whose company Coast to Coast hailed from Bradford.
This is the Daintees in effortless swing, “an absolutely brilliant gig” were the words of our mastering engineer Mark Lough last week as he was busy mastering.
The sound quality is outstanding with just one of two authentic crackles.

Me and Mathew
In the greenhouse, my Grandfather and me!
Sing little bird sing sing
Sing little bird sing sing
Sing little bird I love you
Let the soul ooze from your bill
Fill up both my lungs with oxygen
Fill up both my lungs with oxygen
So I can breathe in a new day
Fill up both my lungs with oxygen
Share with me your honey buzzing bee
Share with me your honey buzzing bee
Share me your honey don’t you sting me
At least until another year, buzzing buzzing bee
Tell me your tale old man
The tale of long long ago
Of all the beauty you have witnessed
Tell me that tale before you go
Speak of your life old man
Speak of your life Grandfather Mathew
Unfold your magic, sweet clasped leather palm
For there lies your Baccy old man
And pray make us merry Barley wine
Pray make us merry Barley wine
Pray make us merry allow us to sing
Sing, sing sing sing
In the summer of seventy three
In the greenhouse, my Grandfather and me

Guillemot Days whisks us to a glistening shoreline, awash with 10 sublime songs full of serene hope. Compelling right from the buoyant opener Edge Of The World and Butterfly overflows with soaring, twangy sunshine. For a fave, so close with the lush vocals, melodic layers of Flowers Of Hope versus Peace And Plenty: an intriguing, modern parlour song both eerie and exquisite, voices and clarinet blending into something quite special. This album is a musical lighthouse on a dark day. Unmissable. anitajoyce
What a tribute, I haven’t the words to say how this group have been the soundtrack to my life, through good and bad.
Anything that helps is the least I can do, missed dearly. Joe Zux
Alec Bowman perfectly captures the dark soil under the pastoral world of British folk with this collection of melancholy originals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 12, 2020
Swill's Sunday night Facebook live gigs have been a rare high point in a terrible year. A superb singer and songwriter, in fine voice and the guitars sounding gorgeous. A great collection of some fine moments and some TMTCH tracks rarely heard live for years.
