Stunning album written and recorded by Anna Lavigne and Martin Stephenson.
Anna originally worked closely and toured in the UK with Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson and Nigel Planer with the Young Ones; she also worked alongside Marti Caine and spent many years touring internationally with her old pal Lindsay Kemp, RIP. Anna came off the road when her sons were born and spent time as a voice artist and tour manager, she met Martin almost 5 years ago and the two just clicked, touring everywhere together until the recent lockdown. Martin noticed a talent in Anna as a lyricist and formed a natural connection with her as she is a natural co-writer and accomplice in creativity. He began encouraging Anna to write lyrics and co-write songs... this came to fruition on the album 'Bayswater Road' where Anna co-wrote 3 or 4 songs, one most notable being 'Every Kind of Heaven'; not only did Anna co-write this song, she also wrote 75% of the main lyric, having only been given a threaded chorus to work with. She delivered instantly and this is what triggered Stephenson's enthusiasm to encourage her writing, which has gone from strength to strength...
The songs are diverse and beautifully arranged with a truly original slant
Something to really enjoy for the coming year
Good luck Anna from all at the Barbaraville camp xx

lyrics
I love the way you move
I love the way you move
From ya hat down to ya shoes
Always deep within the groove
My I love the way you move
But never trying to be cool
Always free and so in tune
Not to to be taken for fool
Oh I love the way you move
I love the way you move
I love the way you move
Never dancing on your own
That ain’t the time to be alone
Ya legs so thin and stomach flat
Moving like an alley cat
The way your body swings and sways
Makes me dream of you for days
Thats how you lead me to the chase
Can’t get enough of your sweet grace
I love the way you move
I love the way you move

Guillemot Days whisks us to a glistening shoreline, awash with 10 sublime songs full of serene hope. Compelling right from the buoyant opener Edge Of The World and Butterfly overflows with soaring, twangy sunshine. For a fave, so close with the lush vocals, melodic layers of Flowers Of Hope versus Peace And Plenty: an intriguing, modern parlour song both eerie and exquisite, voices and clarinet blending into something quite special. This album is a musical lighthouse on a dark day. Unmissable. anitajoyce

Well gosh, Boo. That really is an album!
The first time through was wonder and delight. Now it’s just a matter of installing it into my DNA. And so repeat play is engaged. You’ve done it again! warren wigutow

This album has quietly moved up the ranks: now a favourite, my first from Susanna Wolfe. I love the mix of reflective drama and honesty underpinning this outstanding release. ‘Accident of Birth’ is a bravely crafted account of dysfunctional family life whilst ‘Chemical Liberation’ is haunting, containing my favourite guitar solo of the album. Bargain Basement’ has exquisite vocal harmonies but the top slot goes to ‘Just One Step’ for pure catchy positivity, an album for ‘healing and believing’ anitajoyce
