Stunning album written and recorded by Anna Lavigne and Martin Stephenson.
Anna originally worked closely and toured in the UK with Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson and Nigel Planer with the Young Ones; she also worked alongside Marti Caine and spent many years touring internationally with her old pal Lindsay Kemp, RIP. Anna came off the road when her sons were born and spent time as a voice artist and tour manager, she met Martin almost 5 years ago and the two just clicked, touring everywhere together until the recent lockdown. Martin noticed a talent in Anna as a lyricist and formed a natural connection with her as she is a natural co-writer and accomplice in creativity. He began encouraging Anna to write lyrics and co-write songs... this came to fruition on the album 'Bayswater Road' where Anna co-wrote 3 or 4 songs, one most notable being 'Every Kind of Heaven'; not only did Anna co-write this song, she also wrote 75% of the main lyric, having only been given a threaded chorus to work with. She delivered instantly and this is what triggered Stephenson's enthusiasm to encourage her writing, which has gone from strength to strength...
The songs are diverse and beautifully arranged with a truly original slant
Something to really enjoy for the coming year
Good luck Anna from all at the Barbaraville camp xx

Every kind of Heaven We need birds we need bees We need flowers we need trees We need every kind of heaven for our garden We need skies we need seas We need rivers we need streams We need every kind of heaven for our garden And the world could be a better place Yes the world could be a better place With every kind of heaven for our garden So I say, yes I say, now’s the time don’t delay Heal the Earth, hold the land sea and sky In a safe happy place, not a toxic disgrace For we need to protect all of our children There’s no need for the greed As we sow we shall reap Even birds as resilient as the phoenix Can’t be heard through the cries And the flames of an earth That is poisoned and painfully dying And the world could be a better place Yes the world could be a better place With every kind of heaven for our garden So take the time whilst we can To protect our fellow man And in doing so we’ll safeguard the future So the child of today can enjoy the right to play In a world that will see more tomorrows

Dance the last goodbye Dance the last goodbye Lets make our peace before you leave Deep in our hearts there is the will to speak It doesn’t have to end this way Why break good friends I say Dance the last goodbye with me Dance the last goodbye Who cares that things might never be the same So, Dance the last goodbye with me Deep in our hearts there is the will to speak It doesn’t have to end this way Why break good friends I say Dance the last goodbye with me Dance the last goodbye Dance the last goodbye Dance the last goodbye Dance the last goodbye Dance the last goodbye

I love the way you move I love the way you move From ya hat down to ya shoes Always deep within the groove My I love the way you move But never trying to be cool Always free and so in tune Not to to be taken for fool Oh I love the way you move I love the way you move I love the way you move Never dancing on your own That ain’t the time to be alone Ya legs so thin and stomach flat Moving like an alley cat The way your body swings and sways Makes me dream of you for days Thats how you lead me to the chase Can’t get enough of your sweet grace I love the way you move I love the way you move

A LIFE OF HER OWN She left the house the morning after him boarding a cold and lonely bus reaching out, to a life of her own Trying to keep silent disharmony with open mouth and eyes tight shut She is leaving him, for a life of her own Being blown without choice, reaching out To an island unknown, to a life of her own No care what any future brings Her vision lost within her mind Not even time to tell her mother Just an empty trail far behind Trying to keep silent disharmony with open mouth and eyes tight shut She is reaching out, to a life of her own Being blown without choice, reaching out To an island unknown, to a life of her own Right now she is nowhere for she hasn’t travelled to Wherever might be somewhere And whoever might be who

about

The making of this wee album has been blessed by immeasurable support from the talented musicians and friends who contributed their time and skills with great generosity of heart and spirit.
Endless thanks, respect and love to Martin, Philippa, Al, Jim, Liza, Bruce and Mark - ace sound engineer. It couldn’t have happened without you.

We live in strange and unsettling times…
These songs reflect a belief in the power and courage of the human spirit to reach beyond fear and to continue, with hope.
It is a celebration of survival; of love.

There are ‘angels’ who guide and influence our lives for the better. Some we know, others work in hidden form. All homage to them…

Dedicated to Martin and to Finn, Niall and Steph who make my heart sing every day
